An Introduction & Welcome
Hello, my name is Jax, Jax Diamond. Actually my full name is Jackson Cash Diamond. According to my mother, a Dallas debutant and socialite, I was named after our seventh president, Andrew Jackson and her favorite singer Johnny Cash. My father, a Texas oilman and gambler, swears I was named for his lucky Texas Hold em starting hand, pocket Jacks, and the thing he likes to see in front of him at the poker table, stacks of cash.
I consider myself to be one of the luckiest guys to ever walk the face of the earth. Growing up I never wanted for anything. I had parents and family that loved me and instilled in me a blue collar work ethic and a true appreciation for life. I was expected to excel in school and encouraged to compete in athletics.
I have lived in Dallas, Texas all my life except for the 4 years I was back east at college and the 18 months I lived in England while reading Economics at Oxford. After school I took a job with a large bank and started to move up the corporate ladder. After 5 years I left and started my own consulting firm. It was and still is an economics consulting firm that advises banks, brokerage firms and insurance companies on current and future economic trends and conditions. My best friend Adam thinks I am a professional “BSer” with a license to steal. I tell him that I provide a valuable comfort level to a whole lot of highly paid executives and we all know that comfort is not cheep.
I admit I have a couple of passions in life. My mother would call them vices, but hey, we are talking semantics here. I love to have a good time and I love to play poker. Welcome to my blog which will chronicle my pursuit of poker and the good life.
